Numerical evaluation of the reliability of using single-story substructures to study progressive collapse behaviour of multi-story RC frames

Progressive collapse is a global failure for multi-story building. All stories above the removed column will consequently deform and help redistribute loads initially withstood by column. However, due to cost excessive time be involved, majority of existing experimental researches regarding progressive rely on single-story beam-column substructures or sub-assemblages. To date, how use results from sub-assemblages fully confidently study behavior building still unclear. Thus, it imperative investigate relationship between real buildings. this purpose, in present study, series planar reinforced concrete (RC) were modeled using high-fidelity finite element software LS-DYNA. Firstly, numerical models validated test two three-story with different design spans. Secondly, explored various load resistance each story investigated frame. In addition, effects boundary conditions, missing locations, numbers variation studied detail models.
